New Coffee Shop – Waterbeach

No 6 Chapel Street is a former Pharmacy in Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire. Our clients came to us with a vision to convert the existing building into a coffee shop which the village lacked.

The property is within the Conservation Area of the village and therefore liaison with the Conservation Officer was carried out throughout the application.

We obtained planning approval for the conversion and Change of Use of the property from A1 to A3 use. A separate Advertisement consent application was also obtained for the new timber shopfront and signage for the new ‘Pharmacie Café’.

Once planning permissions were in place, we then produced more detailed drawings along with a construction specification for the project in order to obtain Building Regulations approval. These drawings were used to obtain builders quotes as well as construction drawings for the project.

The new coffee shop opened in December 2018 and has been providing the village with a great community hub since.
